Associative Search

This method is used when one wants to retrieve objects that are associated with the query, even if they do not contain any of the query terms.

EXAMPLE: Let D1 = {brain, stroke} and D2 = {stroke, CT, brain} be two objects, and Q = {CT} be a query; i.e., retrieve those objects which can be associated with Q . The associative search is able to ‘discover‘ that D1 is related to D2 through the terms ‘brain‘ and ‘stroke‘, and will return D1 as an answer although it does not contain the query term ‘CT‘.
